Obviously, steam heating is no longer suitable for storing and transporting acetic acid.

For heat-sensitive environments such as acetic acid, electric heating can effectively control the temperature; in addition, compared with steam heating, electric heating has the advantages of safety, reliability, simple design, less daily maintenance load, high use efficiency. Speed, and low maintenance costs., only the cost of equipment and materials is slightly higher.
In order to ensure the quality of the acetic acid supplied and avoid unnecessary economic losses, the Nanjing petrochemical company decided to dismantle the original steam system and replace it with an electric heating system.
Acetic acid is known to have a freezing point of 16.63 °C and a boiling point of 118 °C, which is a strong corrosive effect. The design pipeline maintains a temperature of about 25 ° C, the minimum ambient temperature is 14 ° C, the level of explosion protection: II explosive zone.

The company held a program discussion and technical information exchange with many manufacturers and finally chose our electric heating products. Since the maximum heating length of one power supply in this project is 3510 m, it is advisable to choose a serial constant power electric heating cable. Due to the strong corrosion activity of acetic acid, it is necessary to add a reinforced shell on the outside of the insulating layer of the sequential electric heating belt. Both the insulation layer and the shell layer are made of ptfe, which have good insulation and anti-corrosion properties and long service life. In addition, for uniform electric heating, three independent shielded anti-corrosion electric heating cables are laid in parallel along the direction of the pipeline.

In addition, it is necessary to install a constant temperature regulator for electric heating of pipelines with temperature-sensitive environments, which can effectively reduce electricity consumption and save energy.
Since our electric heating system was installed and put into operation, it still works well. Since the temperature of acetic acid was effectively controlled within the estimated range, there was no color hue phenomenon exceeding the standard caused by overheating.
