Electric heating is often used in petrochemical plants to maintain or compensate for heat losses in pipelines during production operations and shutdowns. Usually hot water, steam and electric heating are used as a coolant.
Reliable temperature control, small structural volume, no leakage, high energy utilization, low operating costs, especially when heating heat sensitive environments, and heating away from a hot spot have incomparable advantages. Electric heating is to use electric heating energy in addition to the heat lost by the heating body in the process to maintain the most reasonable process temperature of the flow medium and play a role in maintaining the temperature.
Electric heating technology mainly refers to three electric heating methods: 1. Skin effect current method (SECT method for short) 2. Mineral insulated heating cable method (MI method for short), constant power electric heating method). The selected project is an electric heating method. The electric heating cable is flexible and can be easily laid on the surface of the pipeline. The surface effect heating cable is based on the AC "surface effect" and "proximity effect" Due to the strong magnetic permeability of the steel pipe, a significant skin effect will occur even at the industrial frequency voltage. The so-called skin-effect is a phenomenon in which an alternating current passes through a carbon steel conductor, a current gradually becomes splashed on the surface of the conductor, and the proximity effect is an electromagnetic phenomenon between a pair of electrical bodies with opposite currents, in the heating tube When the current passes between the cable and the heat pipe, The current on the heating pipe gradually tends to the inner wall of the heating pipe, and this is the joule heat generated by this thin inner wall to meet the needs of electric heating. The heating range of one power source of the skin heating cable can reach 25 kilometers.
