It is especially important to ensure that the substance reaches a predetermined phase state during the production process. This requires us to heat the medium so that the production phase can proceed smoothly.

At present, pipeline heat sources mainly include steam, hot water, and electricity. Steam heating and hot water heating are relatively traditional heating methods, which use a heating pipeline close to the outer wall of the pipe and transfer heat to the original coolant through heat transfer to achieve the goal of heat preservation and heating.

Electric heating is a heating technology that uses electrical energy as heat, safe and reliable to effectively control the temperature and prevent overheating of the pipeline environment. Due to some problems with steam heating and water heating, electric heating is currently the main method of heating.

A complete electric heating system usually consists of power connectors, electric heating cables, electric heating terminal boxes, three-way junction boxes, double-sided junction boxes, insulation layers, moisture-proof layers and harness. These devices are mutually complementary and interconnected, if a problem arises in any of the links, this will lead to the failure of the electrical heating system of the PP device.

Due to the regular structure and high crystallization of polypropylene, the melting point can reach 167 °C. Therefore, there are two types of electric heating cables commonly used in general-purpose devices: one is a constant power heating cable, and the other is a self-regulating heating cable.

Constant power electric heating cable has significant advantages such as high thermal efficiency, constant power, long service life and long service life. The use of low-voltage power supply for power supply can provide a small area for equipment. It should be noted that the constant power electric heating power is constant, but it must be used with a thermostat for accurate temperature control.

The output temperature of the self-regulating electric heating cable changes with the ambient temperature, when the external temperature rises, its output power will decrease, and vice versa, the area will increase. Compared with constant power heating cables, self-regulating heating cables have the advantages of simple construction, low operating costs, free cutting and cross-use. Therefore, if there are a large number of flanges and pump fittings on the pipeline, self-regulating electric heating cables can be selected.
