In the spring, the snow on the roof melts and flows into the warehouse, which seriously threatens the safety and quality of the materials. Taking the fixed warehouse of the petrochemical plant in northwest China as an example, let's take a look at how to choose a spring snow melting electric heating system for a large warehouse. The original snow melting system of this durable warehouse is electric heating. As snow on the warehouse roof melts in winter and drains into the drain chute over the sloping roof, electric heating is mostly laid in the gutter to prevent snow water from setting and draining into the drains pipe, a catchment system that is eventually discharged into the underground pipes.

The actual effect of the original snow melting system was not ideal, mainly due to frequent electrical heating failures, resulting in the inability to melt snow in the chute in time. Snow water draining into the ditch freezes at night due to the low ambient temperature and blocks the drain, causing the snow water to overflow through the chute and flow into the warehouse, affecting the materials in the warehouse. Since winter 2013 In the spring of 2014, due to poor performance of the snow melting system, after the snow on the roof began to melt, there were many water leakage points in the warehouse, the material is a serious danger.

After the plant contacted us, they chose our snow melting electric heating system to upgrade their original electric heating system. The cable from the junction box to the terminal snow melting system uses TXLP series heating cables with a higher level of insulation and can be laid directly outdoors. This type of point heating cable prevents unnecessary damage from cuts, thereby preventing short circuits and short circuits to the ground. When the surface is covered with ice and snow, the power output per unit length of the heating cable is 18.5 W/m.

The junction box also decided to install a new junction box with intelligent temperature control. The inbound side is three-phase 380 V or 220 V, the three-phase phase line, the neutral line and the protection line are installed, the four-level circuit breaker is used; the outbound side is single-phase 220 V, the single-phase phase line is installed, the neutral line is installed. And line protection, adopt two-stage circuit breaker. The junction box is equipped with short circuit protection, overcurrent, overheating and grounding devices, and 30 mA differential current protection devices are installed for each branch. Thus, if the insulation of one secondary branch of the electric heating is damaged, the remaining current source protection devices are immediately triggered to avoid damage to other secondary branches.

Temperature control equipment has been replaced with more advanced temperature sensors, special air and humidity sensors for rain and snow. Thus, the system determines not only the snow and ice on the roof, but also the ambient temperature. Only when the temperature drops to the set point and there is snow or ice and snow on the roof will the snow melting system be automatically activated to ensure the overall efficiency of the system.

Thanks to our transformation, the snow melting system works well during the spring snow melting season, and there are no problems in the warehouse with water leakage caused by insufficient snow melting, which ensures the safety of materials.
